Year 5 and 6 students at selected schools have been taking part in Project Heritage. As part of this Project students spend time with a Living Historian (a Holocaust survivor) who relates their story; students then prepare a presentation about the Living Historian’s life and experiences. The Project is very popular with students who enjoy learning about the impact of the Holocaust in a structured way and interacting with an older member of the Jewish community. Historians relate their stories in a sensite and age-appropriate way, and emphasis is laid on the importance of tolerance for others.
