In 2014 students in 8 classes spread across 7 schools participated in Project Heritage during their Emet classes.
As background, each class watched ‘Paper Clips’, a documentary about a holocaust project undertaken at Whitwell Middle School in Tennessee, USA. Then each class was visited by a Holocaust survivor who told their particular story of survival to the students. After listening to the story students completed an artistic project which was presented to the suvivor.
The BJE students were extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to meet with a survivor and learn their story first-hand. The Project was generously supported by the The JCA LotBen Fund in 2014.
The photos below are of some of the participating students and survivors and the projects presented by the students. Also included are some photos which Project Heritage Coordinator Robyn Bloom took at Whitwell Middle School in Tennessee where the ‘paper clips project’ took place.
