You’re invited to a Shabbat Themed Meet & Greet lesson for Years K-2 Extension students at Bellevue Hill Public School or Rose Bay Public School!
Our Youth Engagement Team is responsible for developing many of the exciting and inspiring experiential programs throughout our students’ Jewish Journey.
They bring the formal learning to life by running activities in Primary and High Schools, based on the Jewish calendar. They organise a variety of lunch-time and afterschool programs for High School students and coordinate all our holiday and leadership camps.
They accompany our Year 10 students to Israel on ‘Nesiah’ where they make sure that every student is well-cared for. Most importantly, they do all of this and more with energy, passion and a big smile on their faces. ...

Shavuot, meaning weeks, because it falls 7 weeks after Pesach, is a 2 day festival celebrating the giving of the Torah on Mt Sinai. On Shavuot, we read the 10 Commandments in the synagogue and enjoy dairy foods like ice-cream 🍦and cheesecake🍰. Many synagogues are decorated in greenery resembling the plants🪴 and flowers 💐that covered the mountain as the Torah was given, and some even stay up all night discussing Jewish themes and concepts in anticipation of the receiving of the Torah the next day.
