Gibushon is a day camp for Years 7 and 8 being run in conjunction with HaTzofim Australia (Scouts). It is designed to give students the opportunity to foster a connection with Israel and Israeli culture through fun and educational programs while improving and using their conversational Hebrew. Programs and activities will be run in both English and Hebrew.
Please note that students do not need to be fluent in Hebrew. All activities will be catered to students with varying levels of Hebrew.
The Hebrew term Gibushon translates as the act of unity. In Israel, Gibushon refers to a 2-day selection process for the most elite unites in the IDF. It is a time for the prospective young men and women to engage with each other and work together to achieve their goals.
The aim of Gibushon is to inspire your child/ren to be proud of their Jewish identity. Students will have a team of strong and reliable madrichm (leaders) to guide them.
The programs and activities at Gibushon are specifically designed to explore the fun, exciting and vibrant aspects of Israel while developing new friendships with other Jewish students.
Gibushon will be held on 9 July 2018 on the North Shore. If there is sufficient demand, we will arrange a bus from the Eastern suburbs to take students to the camp. The exact location will be disclosed once your child/ren is/are registered.
